Hamilton County Bar Association Executive Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order at 7:30 a.m.  Board members present:  Bob Becker, Jerry Barr, Brad Banks, Jenna Steawart.

 

 

  1. Website:  Is up and fully operational.  Board acknowledges Judge Campbell for all his hard work and effort in putting the site together.

 

  1. Photo Composite:  First round of pictures are complete and are being sent out to attorneys who participated.  Make-up session for those that missed the photos is on November 20, 2006 after which the composite will  be put together.

 

  1. Executive Assitant:  Anne Clemmence is no longer working with Bob Becker’s firm.  Bob to contact Anne to see if she wants to continue to work for the association on a contract basis.  If not, Board will accumulate information for her and discuss how to proceed with a possible future executive assistant.

 

  1. CLE:  “First in the Series” is scheduled for Nov. 9 at Riverview hospital dealing with ethical considerations in estate and family planning.  Lunch is provided and the event is from noon to 1:00.  Interested members should RSVP with Bob Becker.

 

  1. Third Thursday/Robing Ceremony:  Exec. Board is going to attempt to do a robing ceremony for the new Judge of Superior Court 6 on December 21, 2006 to be immediately followed by the Third Thursday social for December.  Board will coordinate this with the new Judge’s schedule.  Next third Thursday is scheduled for November 14.

 

  1. Food Drive:  The Board resolved to setup a canned food drive collection area for people to drop off canned foods in the entry way of the courthouse.  Bob to arrange with Court and Brad is to help get the word out.

 

  1. Future Projtects:  The Board discussed the following possible future projects/events:  Chili cookoff (Bob to discuss with Sean Bleumanthal about scheduling this), tennis tournament, cubs/reds game, Indy Ice game, Golf outing.  Board discussed looking at September for golf outing to give time to form a committee to focus on getting this event up and running

 

  1. Awards:  Board discussed who and what awards to be given out at the upcoming annual Christmas luncheon.  Bob to order awards.

 

  1. Public Donation:  Brad discussed making a donation to Hamilton Centers Youth Services Bureau.  Board voted and approved a $500 donation. 

 

  1. Next meeting:  Exec Board meeting November 20, 2006 at 7:30 a.m. at Perkins.
