2010 MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS Just a reminder that your 2010 Membership Applications and dues are due now. The application is attached to this issue of the Banter and it is available on the HCBA website. The single year dues are $50 for a Regular Member (if your principal office is located in Hamilton County) or $30 for an Associate Member (your principal office is located outside of Hamilton County).
2010 MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY We will be publishing a new directory this year. You must be a current member by May 1, 2010 to be included in the directory. The directory will likely be published around July 2010. Each member has the opportunity to include their practice areas to hopefully create a referral list. Please take advantage of this benefit of membership.
SCHOLARSHIP FOR OUTSTANDING ATTORNEY IN MOCK TRIAL The Executive Committee has approved the establishment of a $500 award / scholarship to be awarded to the Outstanding Attorney in the Mock Trial Competition. This was submitted to the membership and approved at the February lunch meeting.
2010 HCBA CHILI NIGHT The Bar Association Chili Night will be Thursday, March 18, 2010, 5:00 p.m. at the Elk's Club in Noblesville. Anticipated Participant’s: HAMILTON COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE, KRIEG DEVAULT, LLP, CAMPBELL KYLE & PROFFITT, CHURCH, CHURCH, HITTLE & ANTRIM, RICHARDS BOJE PICKERING BENNER BECKER, COOTS, HENKE & WHEELER, SAUCE TARDY & BLUMENTHAL, HOLT, FLECK & ROMINE, and SEVERAL SPOTS REMAIN OPEN. TO ALL ATTORNEYS HCBA MEMBERS AND NONMEMBERS INVITED ENTER TO WIN!!!-- OR JUST COME BY TO SAMPLE THE CHILI. Look for a flyer with details to come from Shawn Blumenthal. HCBA COMPOSITE We will be taking photos for the Bar Association Composite. The dates will be April 27 and 28 in the historic courtroom. More details to come.
CLE OPPORTUNITIES The Bar plans to offer CLE Seminars this year. Judge Hughes, Eric Douthit and Rob Emmerson have agreed to serve on the Education Committee. Please stay tuned for these opportunities throughout the upcoming year.
2010 SUMMER BASEBALL OUTING This year’s baseball outing will be Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Lunch starts at 11:30am and the game starts at 1:00pm. The cost is $26.50 per person. Please turn in your reservations to Judge Pfleging and make checks payable to the Hamilton County Bar Association.
JUDICIAL SURVEY We need 2 volunteers to tabulate the results of the HCBA’s survey of the candidates for Judge of Hamilton Superior Court 2. Please contact John Terry at 773-2090 if interested.
