August 1, 2017 - Civil Forfeitures for the Criminal Defense Attorney
The course is intended to help criminal defense attorneys navigate the civil courts with regard to defending their client’s property in a “Civil Forfeiture” or “RICO” actions. Attorneys David Seiter and Joshua Taylor will be presenting. We will discuss the statutes addressing civil forfeitures, and how they have been traditionally applied. The instructor will propose defenses and defense strategies in such cases. Finally, we will discuss the current attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors of the Judicial and Legislative branches through recent opinions and legislative bills. This CLE Seminar is good for one (1) hour of (pending) general CLE credit and is scheduled for Tuesday, August 1, 2017, from 11:45 AM - 1:00 PM. The CLE is $20.00 for members, and lunch is included. The CLE will be located in the Jury Assembly Room at the Hamilton County Judicial Center.
