Human Trafficking is the “Dirty Little Secret” that is occurring in all jurisdictions no matter how big or small. In fact, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office, Human Trafficking is a $150 Billion dollar a year industry, which has surpassed the illegal sale of firearms and is quickly approaching exceeding the drug trade. Due to this fact, it has become necessary to be proactive in combating Human Trafficking. This training will go over the numbers, where this is happening, state law, federal law, the impact of the internet on trafficking, problems with prosecution, who the victims are, and services for victims, as well as a brief overview on internet safety.
This CLE Seminar will be good for one (1) hour of (pending) general CLE credit and is scheduled for Monday, September 18, 2017, from 5:30-7:00 PM. The CLE is free to HCBA members. The CLE will be located at the Hamilton County Sheriff's Training Facility, 18100 Cumberland Road, Noblesville, Indiana 46060.
