HCBA PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

I would like to take this opportunity to highlight the accomplishments of the Hamilton County Bar Association this past year and to set some goals for 2007.

•The Bar Association continued through the efforts of its membership, in particular Dan Pfleging and Jen Hess, to coordinate the annual trip to an Indians baseball game and to continue the Third Thursdays social gatherings.

•Some new endeavors that the Bar Association engaged in include conducting a survey of the HCBA membership pertaining to the rating of judicial candidates running for local office.  Those results were then published to assist the voting public.

•A directory of the Bar Association was published, updating the last directory which was done in 1998.  If you have not yet received your copy, please contact Luann at my office at 773-4400 and we will make it available to you.

•Thanks to the assistance of Judge Richard Campbell, the Bar Association now has a website at www.hamiltoncountybar.com.

•We have increased communication to the HCBA membership through the efforts of Jenna Stewart and the Barrister Banter.  It is disseminated both electronically and by hard copy.

•We distributed Legal Stuff You Should Know pamphlets to every graduating senior of a public high school in Hamilton County.
