JUVENILE SERVICES CENTER

The guest speaker at the February HCBA lunch meeting was Mr. Bob Bragg, Assistant Director of the Hamilton County Probation Services Juvenile Division.  Mr. Bragg gave members an overview of the areas of operation at the new Juvenile Services Center located on Cumberland Road in Noblesville.  The primary areas are as follows:

  1. Intake
  2. Secure Detention
  3. Secure Transition and Re-entry (STAR) Unit
  4. Shelter Care, and
  5. Programming

NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULE AMENDMENTS

Pursuant to Ind. Trial Rule 80, the Indiana Supreme Court Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure has posted on the Internet at, www.in.gov/judiciary/rules/proposed/, proposed amendments to the following Rules:

  1. Indiana Appellate Rules 14, 15, and 57, regarding interlocutory appeals of class action certification issues.
  2. Indiana Appellate Rule 63, regarding appeals of Indiana Tax Court cases.
  3. Indiana Trial Rules 26, 34, and 37, regarding electronic discovery.
  4. Indiana Admission and Discipline Rule 23 § 27, regarding Attorney Surrogates.

The Committee is also publishing for comment, prior to full Committee review, the following proposed rule amendments:

1.  From the Indiana State Bar Association,     Special Committee on Lawyer Advertising, Indiana Professional Conduct Rules 7.2, 7.3, 7.4, and 7.5, regarding lawyer advertising.

  1. From the Indiana Commission for Continuing Legal Education, Indiana Admission and Discipline Rule 30, regarding the certification of lawyers as specialists.

 

The Committee invites public comment on the proposed rule amendments. Those wishing to comment should do so, in writing, not later than May 11, 2007. Comments may be sent by email or addressed to:
