Golf Outing Coming Soon
I want to
invite you to the HCBA golf outing on Wednesday, August 27, 2008
at Fox Prairie Golf Course. We have not set an entry fee yet as
we are waiting on a few details from the HCBA. We estimate that
it will be a shotgun start between 11 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and the
cost will be roughly $50-$60 which will include hors d’oeuvres
for the social hour after golf. If you are not a golfer, you
are invited to attend the social hour for a cost of
approximately $10. Lutz’s will provide the catering.
While the
members of the golf sub-committee recognize how busy your
calendars are, we would appreciate any flexibility that you can
extend to members of the Bar as far as scheduling is concerned.
Not to mention, we would love to see you all there! Keep your
eyes open for brochures that will be distributed over the next
few weeks.
Thank you
from the HCBA Golf Sub-Committee:
Kevin Klausing, Bruce Bittner, Bruce
Boje, Jane Merrill, John Proffitt, Mark Hurt, Craig Fugate and
Joel Hand.

Our New President's Message
The turn of
a New Year is a time of reflection on the past year and resolution
for the year to come. I am honored to serve as the 2008 President of
the Hamilton County Bar Association. My fellow board members and I
look forward to a productive year to come as we build upon the
accomplishments of the past year. Under President Bob Becker and the
Board, the HCBA accomplished the following goals set for 2007:
ŽBrought back the golf
outing as the 2007 Judges and Lawyers Golf tournament where over 45
golfers enjoyed a day of competitive camaraderie.
ŽRe-established,
increased or further developed the following HCBA committees: social
committee, nominating committee, judicial advisory committee and CLE
committee.
ŽCompleted the work on
the bar association web site and photo composite of HCBA membership.
I’m sure there were
many other accomplishments that I have failed to notice, but rest
assured the new Board will do what it can to keep the Hamilton
County Bar Association a useful, yet fun, Association.
In
conclusion, I invite your active participation in the HCBA. As one
of the fastest growing counties in the state, our legal community is
growing rapidly. The purpose of membership is to provide you with
opportunities for legal educational growth as well as professional
and social networking. Your presence at one or all of our many
events is encouraged and your thoughts and ideas in regard to how to
make your membership and our organization more valuable are welcome.
Best wishes for a health
and prosperous new year!
